A Legacy of EleganceSince 1958

Radhini Sivadharan, daughter of “Kalabhooshanam” Shrimathy Thiripurasundari Yoganantham, learnt Bharathanatyam under her mother at Kalaimanram. After completing her diploma at Kalaimanram, she had her Arangetram on the 3rd of July 1999 at Ramakrishna Hall in Colombo, Sri Lanka. She showed her affinity for the art early — performing her first solo dance at the age of four.

Radhini has had the privilege of performing for the Archbishop of Canterbury on his visit to Sri Lanka, and at the 4th World Hindu Conference in 1995, where Kalaimanram presented the “Dheivathai” dance drama at Ramakrishna Hall. In the UK, she has appeared in “Sangamam” for Black History Month (2002), at the May Day celebrations at Heritage Museum Harrow (2003), and at the Malaysian Independence Day celebrations at Brickendonbury (10 September 2011). She was selected to dance the lead male role of Ravanan in “Thirukoneshwaram”, choreographed by the internationally renowned M. V. Narasimhachari, at the Royal Festival Hall, London.

Since her own Arangetram, Radhini has taught at Kalaimanram — training students for special programmes, competitions, and the UK's Oriental Examination Board London (OEBL), guiding them up to the teachers' grade examination, the diploma in Bharathanatyam. She has accompanied her mother in Nattuvangam for many Kalaimanram Arangetrams.

Radhini is a performing artist, choreographer and teacher — uncompromising in her reverence for the classical form, while creating a warm and nurturing space where each student is met where they are.
